Huesca, Arragon - a must for the summer holidays

As you may know, Barcelona and surroundings get rather hot during the summer months, which is why most residents leave the city during the summer months.  This year, we tried out the Pyrenees. We normally visit them during the winter to do some winter sport or activities but for a long time, I wanted to try out a summer in the mountains.We stayed at a holiday apartment in Formigal, which is a popular skiing station in winter! With its beautiful neighbouring village Sallent de Gallego, located in the central Pyrenees and its temperate climate in the summer, the area becomes a paradise for all nature lovers and hikers.

During our time there, we did several hikes in the beautiful mountains, enjoyed the village life in Formigal and Sallent de Gallego with their municipal pools as a meeting point for all families. We also walked around the lake xxx and hired a pedal boat for an hour.
One of the most memorialbe days was when we took the Panticosa train right into the middle of the mountains where we were dropped off. We then walked back 8 kilometres to the town. This hike and the views are stuck with me until today and whenever I feel like I need some time out, I transport myself back to this beautiful and breath-taking scenery. This area has become a ‘summer visit’ must for us as a family!
